Hello Lora,

Where I went to grade school was the one grade school that took blind kids
from the whole county. I was fortunate that it was only four houses out of
district for where we lived.

When I started there, there had to have been about 25 of us in two class
rooms. By the time I went on to seventh grade it was down to one room and
maybe 12 or so. Still have good memories of those years and still find
myself using sayings MRS Alden use to us. Like the last time I wore your
coat I put it back. When we couldn't find our things at the end of the day.
Or quietly snapping my fingers in an unfamiliar room or building to get some
feedback of what was around and the size of the room.

I have never thought about this but looking back I took on getting on with
life like I have other big undertakings through my life. I got with the
program and ran with it.

When I was a kid, the school district I went to received the blind kids from

several cities around us. I seem to think there ere eight of us, but I only

remember seven names. That was many moons ago, though, so maybe I'm heading

for senility at 38?

And I've been around a little. I proofread two books and submitted them,
but mostly I'm a shameless downloader of my quota every month. I may never
read all those books, but my Braille Lite, my SanDisk card and I are
prepared for reading wherever we are.

Lora
