Lora,

I can help you with the first question, but not with the second.

Open a document in FS Edit, hit F1 and go to Tools, Options, then File Operations and check off the file types that you want to open in FS Edit instead of Pocket Word.

I have no idea currently about the second question, since my Pac Mate always takes a new line after every hard return. If I find a solution, I'll let you know if someone else hasn't written here first.

Evan

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] OT: Pacmate Questions

Hi,

If there are any pacmate users out there, I could use a little help. After
numerous crashes, my Pacmate is working again, but it's behaving a little
oddly. There are two settings I need to change, but I'm not quite sure what
they are.

Firstly, I want all files to open in the Braille editor. Some are trying to
open in Word, and apparently the files are too large, so it crashes, and I
have to go open them in the Braille editor. This used to happen
automagically, but I don't remember what I did to make it so.

Secondly, when the Pacmate sees a carriage return, it used to move to a new
line. Now all the lines just run together.

I don't know how to fix either. If you have any suggestions, please let me
know.

Thanks.

Lora
