Well, if it is difficult to get out and buy a card reader, or you are
cheap like I am, then Active Sync is a good thing to use until you can
get a card reader. I'm using an external hard drive some myself so I
have all three options.

also buy readers with a variety of slots so that all cards can be
used.
You'll love being able to do this though; I find it by far the
simplest way
