lol--but that leads me to ask--do you look blind? With
some blind people, perhaps those who have been blind
from birth? it's evident, and of course if you had a
dog or a white cane it would have been obvious--but
I've seen blind people whose eyes appear normal.
One of my dad's friends, and the father of one of my
classmates, whom I had therefore seen on several
different occasions, was an attorney who became blind
from some condition around the age of thirteen. I had
no idea that he was blind until a party at our house.
As I entered the living room to say hello to my
parents' guests, my dad told me Mr. Deinard was blind
and to hold out my hand and say hello so he'd know
where I was. Up until that time, as I say, I'd had no
idea, since he got along so well without dog or cane.
His wife usually held his arm when they walked
together, e.g., at class events, which was when I
usually saw them, but that just seemed to be a
husband/wife thing--very natural.
