The summer reading contest ends tonight at midnight and we are once again
busting with pride for Nichole. She set a goal of two books a day, whether
reading to kids, for fun, or learning. She read some very short books (35
pages) and some very long books (over 400), depending on her health and
attention span, and loved about 90% of them. She read all the original
American Girl books in the Bookshare collection and several of the American
Girl mysteries as well as some Dr. Seuss, Franklin, Junie B. Jones, Nancy
Drew (notebooks and originals), Encyclopedia Brown as well as Christian
titles. The amazing part is her "want to read" list is longer than ever.
In another post I will share her final book report on "Tuesdays with Morrie"
with an amazing revelation for our family. It may have been one of her
favorites for the many reasons listed in her report.
Our heartfelt thanks to the many volunteers that made her journey possible.
