Cindy, Verizon used to call me incessantly and tell me
that dsl was available in my area and when I'd say
great, sign me up, they'd say oh wait, your number
isn't eligible yet.
One day I just went to their website and signed up and
guess what? I've had dsl through Verizon for almost a
year now.
Try just going to their website and signing up. If
your neighbors have it you are probably also eligible.
You have to live within 3 miles of their whatever it
is called, switching station or something like that.
If your line ISN'T dsl capable they won't charge you,
but it might turn out your line IS capable afterall.
