Here is one about a sign-off that had some interesting consequences.

A co-worker of mine several years ago used to close his emails at work with TANSTAAFL. Shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

One day he was contacted by the company security team. They explained that they were investigating him for giving out confidential company info. They wanted to know that the string TANSTAAFL meant.

He laughed and explained that it is a string from a Robert Heinlein book which means "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch".

We all got a very large laugh over the situation.

Hi Marilyn,

I love your sign-off. I think a lot of us can relate to it!

Yours for good coffee,

Sue S.

Good morning, all.

First, to Shannon, please use your old sign-off one more time so I can
save it on my computer. I always loved that one. It was about being
only
one but doing what one can.

Second, to the person (Amy?) who has the Shakespeare sign-off, when
you changed "now now" to "not now," I understood it a lot better. Not
altogether,
but better. And I thank you.

Third, and last, if I knew how to make a sign-off be automatic, I'd
use this one.
It's a little Star Trekky, so it's from the future, but it would be an
ancient Klingon
saying, so I don't know when it will be first attributed to:

Thanks so much,
Marilyn
