Hi all,

I have to agree with Deborah here. Please do put appropriate subject lines on your messages. Please *do* *not* put OT. I am beginning to get extremely tired of this over-used acronym. If you *know* it's off-topic, then you shouldn't be posting it, period. OT is *not* a panacea or a passport to post whatever you want. To me, what you are doing when you write OT is deliberately saying, "Look I know my message is off-topic but I don't care. I don't respect the list enough to stay on topic and if I put OT, people will forgive me."

<grrrrr> Just post your messages but have the courtesy to use appropriate subject lines. That way we can delete stuff we don't want to read. I get hundreds of messages per day, and the first thing I do is sort them according to their subjects. Then, I go back and read the messages that I have kept. I *have* to cull messages because if I don't, I'd spend my entire life reading email. So, please try to use subject lines that tell a reader what the message is about. BTW, I'm getting to the point of deleting OT messages on principle. So, if you write OT, you better have a good reason for doing so, other than you just want to discuss a personal matter. OT is getting to be like people that use "you know" or "I see" or "the f-word" every sentence or so. A subject line is like a headline in a newspaper. If you like or are interested in the headline, you read the article.

Sorry for the rant, but I feel strongly about this.

Ann P.
