Mary,

Open the file in Microsoft Word, go under file then page setup, under paper size, expand the length of the paper to some say 20 inches instead of the normal 11 and 1/2 then resave the file. After doing this, open the file in Kurzweil 1000 and see if this corrects the problem. I have had to do this with files from Kurzweil to Microsoft so I am assuming it works the same for Kurzweil 1000. Or, the submitter forgot to scan recognizing 2 pages so you end up with one Kurzweil page to every two actual print pages.

HTH,
Sharon

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Pagination

Hello. I recently downloaded an RTF book into Kurzweil, using 9.2. In checking at the end of the file for the number of pages, as the first thing I do, I was given 758 pages. Yet the scanned page numbers for the book indicated a last page of 310. There are page breaks all over the place. Putting in a user-defined page number only compounds the confusion. What am I doing, and how can I unscramble this thing? I have not run into anything like this in other RTF books I have validated. I tried releasing it and downloading it again, with the same results. Help!!!
