are members and/or volunteers allowed to drop in for a few minutes if they happen to be in the vicinity? ----- Original Message ----- From: Carrie Karnos To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, October 05, 2006 7:46 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Palo Alto Yes, Cindy's right. Bookshare is a few blocks from the edge of the Stanford campus, and there's lots to do around here. Lots of new and used bookstores, a good library system, and good public transportation. Bookshare is a 10 minute walk from a Caltrain station, and it's one building away from El Camino, which is a major road going up and down the Peninsula (and in fact, up and down California). I've never been there, but I think it's not too far from San Francisco, and I'm pretty sure Stanford is there, which means it should have a lot of interesting things to do, concerts, plays--and a nice library and, from the shopping Carrie does, good used-book stores. smile Marissa commuted from somewhere, but I think she drove--but there probably is good public transportation.
