Hello Nan: Plustek has three versions listed. 1) Optibook 3600 2) Optibook to pdf 3) Optibook corporate. there is no difference between the scanners in terms of the scanner. The scanner is identical. What is different is a variation in software that comes with the scanner. I have the just plan old OptiBook 3600. I scan and use FineReader Pro 8.0 OCR software to do my scanning and conversions. As others have pointed out you can also use Kurzweil 1000 with the OptiBook. The K1000 will do the scans and OCR in one step.
