Another thought. I think that the rules existing for new volunteers should apply to all volunteers. A volunteer is a volunteer and all should have to follow the same rules. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Larry Lumpkin Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 6:31 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Privacy between volunteers in Bookshare Yes, I have no problem with the organization knowing the volunteer. Most organizations know their volunteers. I know some way needs to be had to resolve problems which may occur with or between volunteers. But a volunteer needs to have the right to remain private if he/she wishes. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Courtney Stover Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 6:09 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Privacy between volunteers in Bookshare Hi all: I know the issue of giving out personal info can be extremely problematic for a lot of people. For people for whom this is the case, here's a suggestion. Create an E-mail address/identity that is soley for bookshare matters. The main thing is having somewhere to send questions as a proofer; it doesn't have to be your main E-mail address. Scott, isn't it true that you can list a "nickname" on your profile which can be clicked to show the books you've scanned/proofread? If this is still the case, create a nickname and then make an address under that name. I'm not sure if I'm making myself clear; if anyone wants clarification, just let me know.
