Me personally, I do try to clean them up, but I don't knock myself out 
trying to do it. <smile> I found some interesting books I wanted to read 
myself in those promotional materials, and I'd imagine others might too, so 
I do my best to clean them up, knowing it isn't core content. Take care.

I scan it as is. It's not core content, so I don't number it or do
much to it. If it comes out cleanly, I keep it. Since the publisher
often uses a different font to showcase the book sample, these pages
sometimes come out messy. If they do, I nix them because they're not
core content. There are more patient people who take the time to
optimize them separately and clean them up. Patience isn't one of my
strong suits. (smile)
