Caleb Carr has written two where psychology is used to
solve the cases. (I don't know if by psych thrillers
you mean the psychological aspect is the scary aspect,
e.g.,perhaps, I Know What You Did Last Summer) or us
used to solve the crimes.

Carr's the Alienist is set in 19th-century New York
and uses psychology, profiling, and the beginnings of
forensic science to catch a serisl killer. Angel of
Darkness is set about a dozen years later but involved
the same group of people re-collected to catch a
kidnapper.
