If your book is not yet in the collection, you can probably get it released.
You can go to the book history page, and e-mail the person who now has the
book. The book history page is found by doing this:
Go to the book information page, the page which contains both the short and
long synopses of your book. Below all of that information are some more
links. Just after the "reading tools" link is the "book history" link. Hit
enter on that link, and the name of the person who now has the book will
appear as an e-mail option. Hit enter on that and you will be composing a
message to the person who now has the book. Just tell them your situation,
that you were almost finished proofreading the book, and would they please
release the book so as not to duplicate work. Generally people are very
gracious about releasing books.

Really sad! Forget it. Someone snatched it. Apparently Madeleine did not
get hold for on it in time, and I guess it is gone. Heartbroken as I was
within 80 pages or so from the end. Oh well, them's the breaks I guess! Is
there perhaps a way to find out who took it? I was having trouble with the
site and it was thrown back because my time ran out. Hope whoever has it
will be able to put in the missing pages.

What's the status of this? Is someone who can scan getting the book and
willing to scan the missing pages if hey are text? Can I cancel my request?
Or should I pick up the book when it comes into my library branch.
