Mayrie, these instructions worked for me with one addition. Before pressing okay I pressed space on a button which said "replace". The first time I attempted the change I did not space on the replace button and when I closed and opened word again, the ellipsis character was back. After spacing on the replace button and closing and opening word the change was still there. I use Window-Eyes and had no problem reading either the replace or delete buttons. By the way, I love Word 2002 and use much of what I learned about proofreading to prepare documents for our church. Thank you for being so persistant about helping with this fix.
