I do, when validating, remove headers. Sometimes I replace all with nothing, being sure not to hit start from beginning when finished so as not to eliminate anything from title page or other front pages. This saves quite a bit of time, although twice, since I didn't say match case, the words were missing from a sentence later--but reading, thart was noticeable and could be fixed. On other occasions I just delete and place the page number properly. But in many cases recently the scanner has already done deleted the headers, or arrange the book in such a way that the header didn't scan.
