Hi Guys and Gals,
I have been thinking about getting a scanner.
I have a few questions about them;
1. Can any scanner be used to scan a book?
2. I think that I understand that a scanner is not the only thing one needs to
scan text and be able to read it. you need an OCR program. Will the OCR
programs that are out there work with any scanner or do you have to buy a
special scanner to work with the software?
I'm asking because I need to be able to scan text and pictures as well. This
will be a family purchase. I won't be the only one who wants to use it. I have
seen at best buy, office depot. and the like, scanners and printer combos that
are reasonably priced but, I don't know if that will do all I want it to do.
Any advise on this will be appreciated.
