I like Nolan's comments on self validation but make only one
observation. I would never try to proof my own writing if it was
something of importance because I fear I might see or hear or
feel what I think I said rather than what is there. I think the
same does not hold true for something I scan since it's not my
writing. I'm scanning it because I want to read it, and it is not
material I'm already familiar with but want to learn more about.
