Hi list:

Recently I experienced a strange occurrence. I downloaded a book from the step
1 download page to validate. The file said that it was an rtf, however when I
opened the file it was a txt file with all the page breaks gone. This has
happened twice, and I know that others have experienced the same thing. Is
this a system bug? If it is I hope that it gets corrected soon. It's rather
disconcerting to think that you're downloading 1 file type and ending up with
another.

I especially dislike txt files because in most cases they lose the page breaks,
which is a lot more work to validate. I know that many on the list feel that
txt files are no big deal. But txt files that do not preserve page breaks are
very time consuming to check for completeness. I don't tend to read the books
I validate, I check for completeness and do some clean up of errors.

Grace
