Hi, Patti. If you know you saved those books in .txt format, do an F2 when you 
have the file highlighted. At that point, you'll be in an edit field where you 
can edit the name of the file. Push the End key to make sure you're at the end 
of the file name and just type .txt at the end to add the extension...or 
whatever format you saved it in. Then, try it again. That still doesn't make 
sense, though, why it would be saved without the proper extension, but see if 
that works. Take care.

  I don't get it.  I save files that are supposed to be txt files, and they are 
put in my desktop with no extention.  So they can't be opened.  I just lost the 
file I did tonight, because I tried to open it in Ob, and it said there was an 
error in opening it,, and then it went away.  So now I have two files on my 
desktop that I can't open, and I have to rescan my most recent book because the 
file on Ob disappeared.  I'm going to bed, grin!
