Thanks, Monica, for your kind words. Like many others on this list, reading
is a passion and access to print material is a craving that I probably won't
satisfy in my life time. <smile> I'm 47 and grew up in a fairly rural area
and still remember the book mobile coming by during the summer and going
with my brother and sisters and standing there with so many books at my
fingertips, smelling the lovely smell of many books assembled in one place,
longing to pick them off the shelves and devour them and knowing that, even
though I could run my hands along their spines, they were beyond my reach.
Now that technology makes access to that information more available than it
was back then, and knowing that I can do something to bring this information
to others who have a similar craving to read, makes me a very happy and
somewhat driven volunteer. <smile> I don't have as much time to devote to
it as I did a year or so ago, but the pleasure of uploading another book to
BookShare is still something I look forward to doing on a regular basis.

Donna, I just want you to know that I appreciate your scanning work
with these books. I don't read these kinds of books, but I know
several people who reallly like them. It will be so nice for our
members to have them in a better condition. You have a true
volunteer's spirit. (smile)
