I am asking someone for a big favor. I have scanned the third book in the blackcollar series by Timithy Zahn. My husband and I love Timithy Zahn, who we view as one of the best science fiction writers. The first in this series was a little violent for me, but I am hoping that Timothy Zahn has written this one in the style of his later books, which deal with battles, but really are not very violent at all. The favor is editing this book for me. I usually read and maticulously edit everything I scan before I submit it, but it would be wonderful if my husband and I could listen to this book together. That isn't possible while I am editing it. It took a while before Patrick learned to listen to books read by a synthesizer, but it is now something we enjoy doing together. I have of course checked this scan as thoroughly as possible without reading it. It has all it's pages and page numbers. I actually marked each chapter heading to make sure they were all present. I did some searches for junk characters and incorrect or messy punctuation. I kind of quickly looked through ranked spelling to fix the mistakes I could find that way. I wish we could still submit .kes files, because there is a lot of stuf in a kes file that would be useful for someone to have while checking the book. There are some comments in notes, chapters are marked with bookmarks, the images were kept, and of course page numbering is correct. I guess I could just send any pages or parts that an editor found to be a problem directly to them in E-mail, even though I could not send the whole book because of bookshare's agreements. I don't have the book here now, but if necessary I can request it from the library again. Because my husband wants this book, too, he will be willing to help with any problems found. I would really be surprised if this was in any way a difficult edit, but of course I can't guarantee anything. Is anyone interested in doing this? Feel free to contact me directly by E-mail at the address I've sent this message from. You can also find my skype and twitter contact info by visiting the link at the bottom of my message.
