Thanks, Kellie. Sure, I can do that. This was already suggested on this list. I was just brought up short, because I wasn't aware that the text was there at all until I happened to cut and paste a passage with the unspoken text into an email message, when it magically appeared. So not knowing that the text was there, I wouldn't have known to do anything to make it readable to begin with. Luckily, I do my real validation and reading-before-submission on my Pac Mate in Braille, so this issue doesn't arise. The unspoken text was perfectly readable on my Braille display. But I don't know if that was because the font attribute was lost when I transfered the rtf file from my PC to my Pac Mate, or because FS Edit is better at handling these types of things better than JAWS. That's sounds a little strange, though, since they are from the same company, but it is possible, I suppose. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kellie Hartmann To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, June 05, 2006 10:14 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Unreadable Text in RTF Hi Evan, I sure don't have a solution to this problem, but in my experience the problem has most to do with font size. Have you tried reducing the unreadable title to like maybe 16-point? I'm not sure how small something has to be before it's guaranteed readable, but since font size doesn't survive conversion it might make sense to select the whole document and pick a uniform font size that's small enough for JAWS to be happy.
