Good question. It would be nice if it were updated at
least weekly. Otherwise, as you point out, it is
useless. For a while I was sort of updating it myself
based on what people posted that they had scanned and
submitted or validated and uploaded, but when it began
to come regularly I stopped.

I suspect whoever does it is busy with something else
at the moment but hopefully we'll get an updated list
soon.

What you describe is the only way to check to see if a
book you're planning to scan is being or has been
done, other than to ask here on the list, as well as
on the bookshare list, since I've noticed that some
volunteers are on that list instead of this--(wrong
list, smile). That's not foolproof, since there are
volunteers not on an list, but...
