There is a specific page on the site for people who want to sign up as volunteers: http://www.bookshare.org/web/AboutVolunteering.html I see, however, that it still says "You must register as an individual member..." which is misleading. I thought Lisa said that was going to be changed, when I mentioned it to her, but it's still there. All they have to do to make it more accurate is to delete that phrase from the sentence and have a link to the application form a volunteer must fill out--and delete the last sentence, "If you are a new user, Join Now!."
