Bob's suggestion is exactly correct, only please use square brackets, [] to
surround the proofreader's note, not {} which Bob has used.

Hi Marty.
Since the photos are on unnumbered pages I'd definitely move them to the
back of the book. Otherwise your page count will be off by ten after page
204.
At the bottom of page 204 I'd put something like:
{proofreader's note:
Ten pages of photographs which appeared here have been moved to the back of
the book to maintain correct pagination.
{end proofreader's note.}

I am working on a book that has about 10 pages of photographs and
illustrations without any page numbers. They are between text pages 204 and
205 in the 500 page book. Do I leave them where they are or should I put
