Hi Katie,
Kurzweil isn't really concerned with printing documents, therefore there isn't much room for concern. From what Stephen has said before, Kurzweil will only arbitrarily put in breaks when there aren't any in the file. This is done to protect from having a one page document that is a mile long.

I use Kurzweil, what kinds of settings would one set in this program to get
the same results. I only see settings for line lengths.

How do I extend the length of the page? I assume I go
to custom size in the Page attribute of the Documents
section of the format, but what then? Do I just write
in whatever number I want?
