Hi Mary -- when we get a bulk donation of files on disk, like this one, we typically process them all the way through using in-house staff and volunteer time. There's no guarantee some won't slip into the pool, of course, as we have to upload, download, and upload just like everyone else. If another volunteer grabs one, no big deal. But it shouldn't flood that list. jesse. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Mary Otten Sent: den 16 augusti 2004 06:23 To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] big bunch of history books on the way I just saw a post on the other list from a generous guy who is donating several hundred scanned books to bookshare. Many are history, but also he's got philosophy, sociology, travel and biography, I think he said. My question for a staff person is, will this load of several hundred books be dropped onto the step one upload page? Or are the in house volunteers validating them? Or what? A huge donation like that is great. But if we're worried about the backlog of things to validate now, what's going to happen when this generous donation gets dumped into the queue? Mary
