Hi Jackie,

The OpticBook scanners are the only scanners that allow you to scan without
pressing the book down onto the scanner. One edge of the scannerbed/glass,
comes to the edge of the scanner itself, so that you lay a book on the glass
with the edge of the scanner in the gutter or crack in the center of the
book. This removes the need to press a book down on a flatbed scanner to
make pages scan clearly without junk characters on the margins of pages
closest to the gutter. The OpticBooks can be had for around $250.

That wasn't a very good description of scanning with what they call a "book
edge". Hopefully you get the idea.

Mayrie

Hi,
I'm just curious, but what is the difference between an optic book and say a
cannon? Also, how much does the optic book cost?
Thanks,
Jackie
