Donna, I try to leave a line space before the text on a new page if I can, just to be safe. When the page number is at the top of the page I delete the heading but leave the page number, then a space, then the text. I was told that the automated machine only strips those top-of-page headings if the words are repeated, but not if there is something different, like a page number, on each page. That may be why so many headings are left in. Also, my experience has been that the headings are often not exactly the same because of the scans, which may be why so many are left in. If the automatic stripper is stripping everything on the top line despite the fact that those top lines are different from page to page, then something's wrong and we need to be warned.
