Hi Katie and Cindy,
Here are some thoughts about why books are approved in the order they are.

Until recently the older system seemed to be working, but now that we're seeing these huge delays I agree it's time to look at something different, but realize, like everything, it will take time to make that happen.

Each time an action is done, a comment appears in the comment history with the date. Now, suppose that the comment history is stored are one great big memo field in the database. I'm not sure that's how it is done, but it looks plausible. Therefore it isn't as easy to display the admin pool to Gustavo in a chronological order, because there might be problems sorting on a memo field. Thus, I think, they used the submit number of each book. And, the way Gustavo traverses the queue is to start at the highest number, which means the most recently submitted book.
Now, if he started at the other end, it would probably give better results, but it would still not be a true "queue."

That brings up the question of how Step 1 is sorted, since it seems to be sorted on the last action a user did..??? I'm not sure of all the answers, but just know that it would probably require an engineering change to make the admin list appear as a queue.

Hopefully you took the advice to write directly to
Gustavo and tell him what the books are. He'll do
those right away--I'm pretty sure. smile

Which raises another question. IF he can approve books
out of order, why can't he start from the oldest? I
wish I knew how that works.

Guess what gang! I have had a book from the admin
list approved that has only been there since
October. Now I have only one dollar to go; how about
that? Coincidence?
