I read today in the news that there have been heavy rains for three days in
Arizona and an earthen dam broke. Campers anda river-rafters have been
evacuated. To get a feel of what it's like to raft down the Colorado River
through the Grand Canyon, especially at its historic highness and when a dam
breaks, I heartily recommend River Thunder. It's about teens, though they are
older teens and mature--but it's more about the river. I validated it-I think
Anastasia scanned it--and I felt as if I was right there with them doing the
trip myself. It was exciting, and I recommend it now, since fiction has become
fact, in a way. Share the experience. smile
