Value Tales is the series I was thinking of
 Judy S. is proofing a children's book: The *Rescuers* it sounded good for
my grandchildren but reading a review on B&N the only edition available is
too "wordy" for their reading level at the moment.
 However, the story reminded me of a book my third-grade grandaughter read
and very much enjoyed; it was part of a series called value Tales. These
are biographies of people based on character traits; The book she read was
about Elizabeth Frye (i think the trait was unselfishness; I don't remember
the others; I do remember there was a book about Louis Braille (would his
trait hav been persistence, I wonder? The books are out of print. My
daughter remembered them from when she was a child and happaned to come
across one in a used-book store; I was able to order one from a
market-place seller via B&N. If anyone can find any that aren't expensive;
maybe from paperback swap? It would be wonderful for our young members to
have in the collection.
