Hi all,
I just wanted you all to know I will be a little slow the first part of
this year in validating books.
the reason is we (my precious Art and I) are fighting for the second
cochlear implant and I just have trouble keeping my mind attentive to
things.
After a year of trying, we have a tentative surgery date.
My second ci (cochlear implant) surgery is tentatively set for Monday
September 13, 2004 pending HMO approval.
I sure hope they do not deny this surgery on the grounds that (medicaid
considers a second ci a "personal comfort item") as they did last year.
Well, since I have that in writing regarding the "a personal comfort
item", along with an advicate of the disabled, we have plastered that
notice all over the internet and in high places.
The medicaid (fl medicaid) officials tried to wiggle out of that one--but
aha, too late. It is now public record.
So since January this year, I've changed to another HMO and have written
a letter to Gov. Bush, and well, here we are--and we are pretty possitive
that the surgery will go throu the approval process this time. If not,
the fight gets nasty.
