It is not the couple of weeks I mean. It is not even the occasional book kept for a month or two. That happens to a lot of us for one reason or another. I am talking about people who keep a book for a long time and then release it without ever doing whatever it takes to approve it and send it on to the admin cue and do it book after book after book. I am also talking about what is to be done about books submitted which are rated fair or poor. They do take tremendous work and tend to linger on the list for many many months.

Elizabeth, you're right on both counts. I had a couple of books that I kept for weeks because I was waiting on them to come in from my library. Do you think I should have just released them instead? I thought I should hold them since I had holds on the print books. In a couple of cases, the print books I got were in paperback form where I couldn't get a clearer scan than the submitter did. I didn't see this as a problem since the books were in ark format and had been languishing around for months before I took them. Is there a waya I should have handled them instead?

As for the romances, I don't have a solution. Maybe we can clone Sue since she likes them. (smile)

I notice a lot of books held for weeks and weeks by the same person only to be released. I know this happens for unavoidable reasons sometimes. I have done it myself. But the more we each do this the less likely a long-time-on-step-one book has of ever coming off step 1 and getting to the validation cue.

Also, I notice the list seems to have lots and lots of romances on it which seem to stay there. Perhaps we need to submit fewer romances for the moment just until some of the current crop gets worked on. Just a thought. (smile).
