Hi Amber,Are you still using Kurzweil to scan? If so, I'd just optimize scanning which can be found in the scan menu. That usually gives satisfactory results. Also, I have found that using gray scale scanning, though it takes a lot longer to recognize, gives across-the-board much clearer scans. You could try either.
As to your exact question, I can never remember which way I'm supposed to go, increased, or decreased brightness to fix the problem that you're asking about. That's why I let the optimization wizard decide for me. I don't know why I can never remember that. Laugh.
