Dan, In order to produce good clean books, you have two options, you can normalize the headers and footers, which is a 50 cent word for saying they must be identical down to the capitalization and whitespace, or you can remove the text. If the headers/footers are normalized, then the Stripper should remove the text as it processes the page numbers. I've found that it's easiest just to remove the text though by hand since that's faster than insuring that all of the text is normalized. The results are the same, and removing the text by hand has less risk associated with it since it makes the job of the Stripper simpler. So when validating a book are we supposed to take out the footers/headers and just leave the page numbers and page breaks? If so then that is the last task to finish validating this "All Things Herriot" book. Thanks.
