Hi, Lissi, I have no idea if I can help you with this, but have you got into the view menu? I remember attempting to proofread a book and I learned through fellow volunteers on the list that I could change the view of the document I was proofreading. I had to learn this because the document I was proofreading was in web layout view. I was told to choose either normal view or print view. I chose the latter. All I did was strike the enter key on the view I wanted. I have no idea if this will help you or not. If it doesn't work for you, I'm sorry. I will commiserate with you and hope everything turns out okay. Regards and bon chance, Kim Friedman. _____ From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Estelnalissi Sent: Saturday, June 05, 2010 4:39 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] help with word, a million normals are abnormal Dear Booksharian Friends, While working in word, I found my book document was in columns. By listening to the menu choices and by trial and error, I found the choice to decolumnize the document. Meanwhile, I don't know when because I don't look at the screen much, I realized a vertical strip had appeared to the left of the document. I didn't know how to get jaws to read it, so after a visual struggle, I deciphered the word normal on every line that had writing on it. just one word per line saying normal. Because visual checking is so tedious, I only checked about 3 pages of this. Does anyone have a clue what I turned on or off to cause the normals to appear and how I can get rid of them? Waiting hopefully...
