[bksvol-discuss] Re: my subbmitted book "Driving on the Rim" hello, proofreader, I have a message!

Hi, I could understand uploading a book quickly if it has less than
fifty pages, but since it takes me a week to a month to proofread a book
(I read every word and get rid of scannos at the same time) I doubt if
anybody could proofread a big book in a few days. Depending on the book
I might do two chapters a day or more if I don't feel like doing
anything else. Regards, Kim Friedman.

hello, proofreader, I have a message!

If you will remember the jiffy proofing scandal, Nicholas Wilcox was one
of
the two people who checked out books and then uploaded them in less than

five minutes, obviously not bothering to work on them at all. He
recently
checked out one of my submissions and this time took a few days to
upload
it. I hope that means that he has learned his lesson and is now actually

proofreading rather than just downloading and uploading, but having a
book
out for several days does not mean that any work is necessarily being
done
on it and based on his past behavior I don't trust him. Since I preproof
my
submissions, though, I knew of no way to check on him. Now we have a
way.
Alert Carrie and then let it go. If he passes this book then we will
know
that he is not bothering to read it.
