On the subject of Open Book scanning, I use page pro, the first OCR in the list for most of my books. Fine Reader seems to include too many extraneous characters. I also use two-page mode for most of my books A problem I often have is that the two pages get scanned as one, so I have to repeat the scan several times to get it right. I found that scanning two pages at a time, then letting the scanner read back the first couple of lines of the text to show if the scan is right, then rescanning if necessary. It probably takes longer, but I don't get through a book only to find that half the pages didn't scan right Kathy Novak
