It's probably most prudent and kind not to say who you're having trouble with. If you can give the ISBN, or title and author of the book that you're working on, maybe someone can find a copy and help you out. Barring that, you can always write to volunteer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx and describe your problem. Perhaps they can help you and the scanner come to an understanding. The confusion about e-mail addresses being or not being available is understandable to me. Only in the last few months have all volunteers' addresses showed up for proofreaders proofreading a particular book. In years past, volunteers had the option to reveal, or not reveal their e-mail address. So, if folks remember choosing not to allow folks to contact them, and now they're being contacted, I can understand their feeling disgruntled. Because the change was not something folks were given a choice about. It just happened, and now folks who preferred not to be contactable are now anyway. I'm sure they'll adjust over time. I'm just trying to shed some light on why people might be cranky about the change to having people able to contact them now, when they weren't in the past. Sorry. I didn't mean to rattle on that long! It's in Spanish, which is what's making me wonder how available it is in libraries. The really strange thing is that I e-mailed the scanner before and she helped me without a problem. The only difference this time, other than this was the second time I'd e-mailed her about this one page, was that the message I wrote was completely in Spanish. However, like I said, I'd contacted her before about rescanning this page--in English I might add--but got no reply. Should I say who it is?
