Hello, Aidee,
I am not sure about your first question. I am not sure for an answer
because I am not an expert at volunteering and don't want to give you
any wrong information; however, all these other volunteers are experts
and will give you more question. I do; however, have an answer for
your fonts question with Jaws. That I can guarantee you that it works
with Microsoft Word 2007 and my friend who is running microsoft word
2010 is able to accomplish it with the same steps. So, here it goes.
1. First, highlight the text you want to change font too. You can
use shift+arrows keys to select and highlight.
2. After you have selected it, press control+D.
3. Your jaws should say, "Font dialogue, font plus body" or something
along those lines. Here you can see all the fonts such as times new
roman. You can use arrows keys to navigate them or if you know the
specific font you are looking for, first letter navigation works in
this dialogue.
4. Press tab to "Font style". Here, you will see Bold, underline and
etc. Again, use arrows keys toe to explore.
4. Press tab and then you get to Font size. I suggest using arrows
keys here because for some reason, I can't do first number navigation
in this case, but you are more than welcome to try and teach me how it
works...
5. Press tab for font color. My Jaws says, Font color automatic. I
don't know how to work this color combo box thingy. It's confusing.
I get help in color, and thankfully, Bookshare has no requirements for
colors.
6. Press tab to underline style. It is a combo box so you will hear
it say, None, single and etc. Arrows keys apply.
7. Tab to strike through. I don't know what that is, but mine is unchecked.
8. Next tab to double strike through, which is also unchecked in my case.
9. Then tab to super script checkbox, and mine is unchecked again.
10. Then tab to subscript, checkbox again and unchecked again.
11. Tab to shadow, checkbox and mine is unchecked.
12. Then, next tabs are:
Outline, unchecked in my case.
Emboss: unchecked in my case.
Engrave: Unchecked in my case again. LOL!
Small caps: Unchecked in my case.
All caps: Unchecked in my case.
Hidden: Unchecked again.
Default button
OK Button and this is where you want to press enter.
Also, some short keys if you want to do it quick is control left
brackets shrinks the font and control right bracket increases the
font. Control+B = bold. Control+U = underline. All that. Hope I
didn't confuse you more. It is how it is on mine. Using the latest
Jaws 14 and microsoft 2007, but again my friend who is using 2010 is
using the same steps but her dialogues are moved around a bit. Like
something may come before something, but you know what I mean, right?
Hope that helps!
