I have the same standards and frustrations with proofreading. I can't always figure out what to do, because I want it to be nearly perfect when I'm done with it. I also won't read books with lots of swearing, violence, or sex. I do love books that are exciting thrillers and mysteries for adults, but I find a lot of books don't meet my standards.
I don't find the time to scan as much as I'd like to scan, and I also have a hard time finding interesting books at my library. The library's page is somewhat annoying, though it isn't at all an accessibility issue. It's a bad design for everyone issue. Also, Some books have summaries and some don't.
Anyway, if I submit something you can be pretty sure you'll find it okay, and I know there are others who feel the same way.
Please don't let this message start a discussion about censorship, because my reading preferences have nothing to do with that. :-)
