Hi Hope,
    In future if you think the only way to salvage a porrly scanned book is
by a total rescan, consider rejecting it. If its just too much work for you,
but you think its salvageable by all means just release it and perhaps
someone else will be up to the task. That will help keep books moving
through the system and keep that pesky step 1 page a bit smaller.
