Mark I now know you plan to submit books. Again welcome.
Let me add a few ideas to what has already been posted. A good idea is to
scan a few pages and read what you have scanned. You will be able to have
a quick check of how the rest of the book will scan. You will notice if
the program is scanning with common errors such as rn for m and 1 for I.
A quick way to catch this is if you notice words such as community come out
cornmunity and so forth cornputer cornmerce cornmon for common dornmission
for commisson
If you find "1 have" "1 am" you know that you need to adjust your scanning
settings.
Both of the common errors I mention can be fixed by adjusting settings in
your scanning softward.
I know this is a lot to absorb all at once. Stay calm. Know we all value
your contributing to bookshare. We all want to submit and validate so that
the books which enter the collection are in as great shape as they can be.
