If static doesn't work and grayscale doesn't work, then it probably won't scan. There are some things that just don't scan well. If you try Optimize, see if having it check the resolution as well as the options mentioned above help any. You can leave the 300 dpi alone as long as you're pretty sure the print is normal size. Check the different kinds of threshholding to see which one optimize picks. If you're not sure if it's the book, try a more typical book so you can see how things work. Hope this helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: Christopher Zeigler To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2014 12:07 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: scanning/ocr I was referring to I was asking about the kurzweil 1000 I was trying to scan a book and I am visually impaired and the background is green and it is having trouble recognizing the text so I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on how to get this way to recognize the text properly On Dec 19, 2014 9:28 PM, "Paonia N'Shaiha" <paonia6@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: Is this what you mean: http://ocr4linux.com/en:start Also anyone using this offer suggestions for settings?
