Hi, speaking for myself, I just want the book to be really readable and a
pleasure for other people to download. I just want to do a good job and make
sure the submitter's great scan (hopefully it is a great scan) won't be
messed up by me but look nice and easy to read. The main thing is that
what's added to the Bookshare collection is a pleasure to read. I don't care
if someone else completes what I start provided they don't mess up the book.
I want to do enough so I'm sure what text is in the file is that which the
author wrote and I'll take any help I can get so long as the book ends up in
the Bookshare collection and is great to read. I don't care about who gets
the credit. I'm just glad if What I do looks right and other people likes
what the submitter brought Bookshare. Regards, Kim.

So a 3rd party helped they would go into the project knowing they are just a
help meat for the real team with nothing in mind for that particular book
but to get it added to the library and isn't that the main thing getting a
book added.
I think people ought to think more as in team work and the larger good of
all, so many folks want their names up in lights so to speak the look what I
did thing, when there ought to be just hey bookshare is getting books up so
that others can read, we should always have others in mind never ourselves,
no man is an island and if it takes a 3rd party who cares when your book is
up isn't that the main thing the seeing the down the road results, are far
more rewards than that temporary look what I did
your ultimate goal is to get a book up for someone to read besides
yourselves ourselves, I first came on board thinking there are loads of
books I have read that I know someone else would enjoy. Knowing that I
couldn't be instrumental in actually getting those books put up was
disappointing to be sure, but I never stop being thrilled when I do see
those very same books go up, because I say wow they'll get to read them
anyhow in spite of me and I am glad, because that was my hoped goal in the
first place.
If you never know my name and I'm never a part of a an actual book going
up, if that book goes up anyhow that is reward enough for me, if I can help
bookshare what I can hord out for myself ain't why I'm supposed to be here
and if it is, I'd better check my own motives and get it straight in me. So
a person or a team has to have a bit of help so what! somebody's wanted and
needed and believe me you don't want to be Gwen you'd rather be wanted and
needed even if you were a 3rd party, getting that book in the library is the
main goal it matters not how or who did it seeing somebody getting to read
or learning to read is though.

Kim, my solution would work anyway. A third party could scan the missing
pages and submit them with a hold for the proofreader. The point isn't who
could scan the pages. The point is that the pages would be uploaded legally
by whoever scans them.

Well, what if your submitter no longer has a copy of the book so pages can
be re-scanned? The submitter of the file I was working with no longer had
the book and couldn't re-scan anything. I think I like your solution if the
submitter retains the book, but what if it (the book) is a library book and
he/she can't get it? Then that poses a problem for everyone. Regards, Kim.
