"From a volunteer lurker who prefers to remain anonymous: here's another
reason to actually read the books you proofread rather than just do global
checks: I came across a sentence that didn't make sense. It had the word
"tine", like the tines on a fork. It's a real word, so spellcheck ignored
it. It was context that failed. The real word? "rifle". Who would've
guessed? I encourage us all to actually read each book, whether that be
audio with formatting turned on (which makes a difference for braille
conversion) or through visual print, or braille. What is "required" in the
manual is so minimal and allows so much junk to go through.... I hope we can
think less of quantity and more of quality. Thanks. Rant off."

A few people will recognize my writing style and pet peeves (with ee, thank
you very much!). at least I didn't do my spelling rant!
