You can of course copy and paste the comments into another file before you download the book. I don't have a solution for the BookShare volunteer email.

I have another wish (it is Christmas, after all). If
would be *really* nice if one could download, along
with the book, the comments from the submitter or
previous validators (I think that's been mentioned)
and/or  the name of the submitter if other than
Bookshare Volunteer. If we want to explain to the
submitter why the book is rejected, or have a question
for the submitter, who may own the book or can obtain
it from the library, there's no way that I know of to
know who it is except to release the book, read the
record, and then download it again.
